Insurance is one of the easiest costs to quietly overpay on, because renewals happen once a year and most people just accept the new number. Scout is built to catch that before it costs you another twelve months.

The buying power behind Scout comes from the whole membership, not just you. Every member who adds a policy strengthens the pool of pricing data our AI Brain works from, which is what lets us negotiate rates individual investors could never get on their own.

How it works

1. Add your renewal date. Or forward your renewal notice straight to AILA, and she'll pass it to Scout.
2. Scout scans the market. Your current premium gets checked against the open market and the Club's negotiated group rates.
3. You get the comparison. Your renewal price side by side with the club member rate, if there is a better one.
4. You decide. Switch if it makes sense, or keep your current cover knowing you checked.

Who it's for

Any member with property insurance — which is effectively every mortgaged rental owner. It matters most for anyone who's never actually shopped their renewal around, or who's had the same policy for a few years running without checking whether the price has quietly crept up.

What it doesn't do

• It doesn't guarantee a better rate every renewal. Some years, your existing cover is already competitive — Scout tells you either way.
• It doesn't bind or purchase insurance for you. You make the call, and arrange the switch yourself if you decide to.
• It's not personalised insurance advice. Scout compares price against comparable cover; for questions about whether your coverage itself is adequate, talk to a broker or insurer directly.
• It can only watch what it knows about. Add your renewal date, or Scout has nothing to check against.

How does Scout know when my policy renews?

You add the renewal date, or forward your renewal notice to AILA — either way, it's on file and Scout checks it as the date approaches.

Where do the club rates come from?

From negotiated group deals — our AI Brain aggregates anonymised premium data across the membership so we know what everyone's really paying, then we negotiate rates with insurers using that collective buying power.

Does switching cost me anything extra?

Using Scout itself doesn't cost extra. If you book cover through one of our partner insurers, that follows our standard partner-services model — see our pricing page for exactly how we make money; we don't take hidden commissions.

What if I don't want to switch?

No obligation at all — Scout is informational. Plenty of members check every year and only switch when the numbers are worth it.

Is my policy data shared with insurers without my consent?

No. Your policy details are used to run the comparison, not sold or shared — nothing goes to an insurer unless you choose to get a quote or switch.

Does Scout cover more than landlord insurance?

It's built around the cover investors need most — landlord and property insurance — with more categories added as the Club's group deals expand.

What if my renewal comes in lower than the club rate?

Then you're already doing well — Scout will tell you there's nothing better on offer, rather than push a switch that isn't in your interest.
